The Time We Shared

In a recent post I promised to present a feature poem, this one dear to my heart and will have its own special place in my forthcoming book "A Touch Of Rose". This was written during a few precious moments of reflection about my mother who I lost several years ago. Not a day goes by that the words to this poem don't whisper silent in my ear.

THE TIME WE SHARED

Already a year has passed us by since we lost you, mom, to a heavenly place. Are you watching, listening, are you truly there? How I miss you now...and the time that we shared. Sometimes tears just aren't enough.

Ever the twinkle in your eyes
A love so deep, so much you cared
Why must life always come to an end
Ever too soon, it isn't fair

So much passion you had for life
So tender, forgiving, blessed one
For all our wrongs you saw us right
A gentle, guiding hand was your way

Now we must draw on memories
Your images sweet, forever real
I hear your voice, softly near
So calm, so happy, comforting me

Our days at the cottage, so serene
Fireside stories of days gone by
What I would give for just one more kiss
A fleeting embrace, knowing you're there

Tell me we'll be together again
Familiar laughter, a knowing grin
Whisper your stories I long to hear
Of happier times we used to share

We miss you mom...till we meet again
